Take care of your princess – understand pubertal changes better
A little girl singing, dancing and enjoying her happy childhood is suddenly put with lot of restrictions once she attains puberty. Puberty is not a sin, it is a blessing to womankind. Attaining puberty is an important event in every girl’s life. It is just a natural biological change that happens in every girl’s life at certain age. Most of the girls are beauty conscious. Puberty adds beauty in all girls. It gifts every girl with good looks due to the bodily changes during puberty. Puberty is nothing but the onset of menstrual cycle and ovulation which means an ovum gets released every month. It means that the fertile period of the girl has started. She comes across many physiological and psychological changes due to the hormonal imbalance. It is very essential that parents and school teachers should know this and help them to cross this difficult period with ease.

Every mother is responsible to make her daughter aware of what puberty is and also make her comfortable for such a change with positive taught forms at right age. This helps a girl child to be mentally prepared for all the fore coming changes within her regarding puberty. This is vital to get her relieved from any psychological shock due to pubertal changes.

1.      Mother to Dr - I attained my puberty at the age of 12, but my daughter attained puberty when she is 9 years old. I am worried. What is the reason behind for early puberty???
Attaining puberty age differs for every girl child depending on various factors, especially food and lifestyle has a greater impact. Nowadays, girls attain puberty at an earlier age compared to past decades. Excessive eating of many processed, high-fat foods, may be the cause of this phenomenon. Overweight or obese children are more likely to attain puberty early. Some evidence suggests that obesity can accelerate the onset of puberty in girls and may delay the onset of puberty in boys. Nowadays, pubertal age is from 9 to 12 years.

2.      After puberty my girl seems to be weak. What would be the reason and how should I take care of her??? 
Its normal for many girls as the physiology gets changed. You can give her multivitamins and iron to restore normal health status. 

3.      My daughter was performing well at her exams before her puberty, but after which I notice a sudden drop in her performance level. Why such change? I am confused if it is really because of puberty.
