Nurturing Kids For Future
Every parent wants to provide the best to their children. But while majority of them focus on education and social behaviour, not many parents focus on inculcating healthy food habits. Healthy eating can stabilize children’s energy and sharpen their minds. It is no doubt that children are our greatest asset. Generally, we invest for the future. Children, like any other asset, need to be invested in and developed. In today’s competitive world every parent aspire their children to be bright and intelligent and excel in all fields be it education or sports. They are key elements to the economic and social wellbeing of not only the family but of the society as a whole. Generally, parents start planning well in advance for the future of their children. Most parents make adequate savings to meet the various needs of their children. For, example, if someone has a daughter aged 5, the parents start creating a marriage corpus that should beready for the daughter in the next well being of the children 18 to 20 years. But, it is highly im-
portant to understand that savings alone is not sufficient. It is vital to create a perfect ambience for the children by investing systematically in be it education, sports or social behavior provide them a good platform. Children need to be developed and nurtured with care and compas-
sion. Though, education occupies the prime focus in the minds of parents, it is also imperative that children deserve proper and healthy foods. All children need access to consistent, high quality food and it is the responsibility of every parent to lay a proper foundation for the well being of the children and ensure it results in providing proper health.
Early Childhood
Early childhood is vital for a bright future. Young children are highly sensitive to external influences. Researches have proved that the foundations of brain architecture, and subsequent lifelong developmental potential, are laid down in a child’s early years. So, early experi-
ences in the home or in the school, interact with the child’s genes to shape the developing nature and quality of the brain’s architecture. Further, it has also been proved that later skills in schooling and employment build upon these early skills. Therefore investment in early learning and development of the child is more crucial so as to make the child more efficient. It can also
generate more benefits for the child in future. So, it is the responsibility of every parent to create conditions impact on the child.
Adolescence
Adolescence is a transitional period where every boy or girl undergoes different kind of pressures from within as well as from the family. It is a time they need to adapt to the changing needs both biologically and emotionally. Ensuring a smooth transition without undue stress, depends a lot on the parents. Studies show that many of the negative behavioral problems begin during the early adolescent years, when psychological problems also increase. For example, depression and eating disorders increase in prevalence seriousness, particularly among females. Some researchers believe that it is the combination of so many changes like coping with the stresses of pubertal change, school transitions, and the dynamics of life, all occurring
simultaneously that makes early adolescence problematic for many young people. Family
environment does play an important role in shaping up things for the budding youngsters and negotiate the changes. A central task of adolescence is to develop a sense of oneself as an individual. It is the time that compared to children under age 10, teenagers are given new opportunities to ex- perience independence outside of the home. At the same time, however, most adolescent people continue to rely on the support and guidance offered by adults in the family, in school, and activities.
